17' canoe on top of a slightly less than 17' mazda3. It’s easier to use the Mazda than the outback because the roof is so much lower and I use the front tow hook as a tie down point.

Nice. I’m looking for the right boat and seeing you transport yours this way gives me ideas.

This boat is very lightweight so I can load it myself if needed. Canoes are not very popular anymore so good luck finding one. I’m adding some stand up paddle boards to the fleet next, they are very fun and easy to lug around.

I tried to talk my father-in-law into selling his to me. He has plans to refurbish it with some fresh gel coat. I really want a Hobie Adventure Island tandem. It’s the best of both worlds - a kayak which can be equipped with outriggers and a sail. We had a chance to sail one a couple of years ago. It’s just hard to get over the price.

My boat is bigger than your boat.

Yes. This is true.

That red TT though, that’s looking good.

Luckily mine fits in the trunk. 14ft would not be ideal for daily roof carry.

That looks like a fun boat.

Its great. I really wanted a big square stern freighter but this is kinda the same and I can keep it in my trunk at all times. Did a nice float today with some friends in canoes and it was a perfect sunday.
